The Photographer’s Child…

My clients are always commenting to me and saying that I must have tons of beautiful images of my own children. HA! My kids take off running the minute I bring out the camera and now I have proof to show you what happens.

This little video clip is from Disneyland the other day, now I was only carrying my tiny point and shoot camera so you can imagine how bad it is when I break out the DSLRs.

My poor poor tortured child and OMG my voice sounds not like it does in my head.  Icck! LOL

wow, your voice didn’t sound like it sounds in MY head either. LOL. She is so cute and this made me LAUGH — my kids are, of course, the same way!!

That is the cutest, sweetest, funniest thing EVER! Lucee always says, “STOP THE CWAMWAHS, MOM!”

Brandy Anderson - December 20, 2007 - 11:39 pm

That was so perfect.
I routinely feel your pain.

Melissa Rodriguez - December 21, 2007 - 8:11 am

This is hilarious! I can SO relate…

Michelle Haley - December 21, 2007 - 6:55 pm

That poor child….what a HOOT, though. She can’t even catch a break at Disney!

Shawna Allen - December 22, 2007 - 7:59 am

Oh that is hilarious! I pretty much get the same thing…

Jennifer - December 22, 2007 - 8:27 am

HAHAHA! So true thats all I ever get from my kids as well! Too funny too!

Gretchen - December 22, 2007 - 11:31 pm

Oh my gosh, I have the giggles now! Too cute! And yeah, I get the same thing from mine. And when people we don’t know (read: potential clients!!) see my camera while we are out and about, my 8 year old just whines about how I am ALWAYS taking pictures. . . yipes.

This is toooooo funny!!!!

OMG!

I’m laughing my butt off – such a photog’s child!

Anita - January 5, 2008 - 10:20 pm

It is 12:18 in the morning and I am laughing out loud! Priceless.

Wait a minute!!!! My little guy just turned 1…and he LOVES my camera…hams it up the moment I bring it out. Is this the doom that awaits me? No! It can’t be true.

Melissa E Earle - January 19, 2008 - 7:20 pm

It is super hard for mee too, that is why I finally got around to doing it and posting some of them on my blog! lol

A familar face

Now most of my existing clients know that during the week I’m busy playing with toys.  Yep, I get to photograph toys and children for catalogs.  This evening I stopped playing with toys and one of my favorite little clients came by my office so that I could shoot some new stuff for her modeling/acting portfolio.  She just finished filming her first movie, it’s due out next year and I’m so excited for her.  She has the sweetest little heart and she’s such a smart cookie too! Our mission today was to get some shots of her various looks.  Typically for my model clients I don’t crop in quite so close like I did on a couple of these, but just for my website and blog I like to get in close, I love connecting with children and I love how personal a close crop is.

Wow Angela, she looks a lot like Nicol, huh?!

Oh the weather outside is frightful…

Seriously. Can I wish for snow for Los Angeles? Who do I need to chat with to make this happen? Mother Nature, are you listening to me? It’s your dear friend Los Angeles Children’s Photographer Angela Calderon calling. Can you hear me now? What about now? It was 108 today according to the outside thermometer on my car.

What makes a hot day better? Meeting two new little friends. This afternoon I spent some time with two sweet little ones and their parents here in Los Angeles. I heard through the grapevine that after I left they were going to get slurpees! I think that’s a great idea to beat the heat.

These two little ones were total cutie pies. Here are a couple of shots of my time with them today so you can see for yourself how sweet they are! Thank you so much to their Mom & Dad for welcoming me to their home today!

Love my babies!!!!

Ashley Skjaveland - September 4, 2007 - 3:03 pm

Hi Angela!
I am a hu-mongo fan of your work! Because I love you so much, I want to know more… so if you wanna play, I’m tagging you in some “blog tag”. Come check out my blog for the rules: http://www.askjaveland@blogspot.com/

Double the fun…

Yesterday I had a session with a 18 month old set of twins, a soon to be four year old and their Mom & Dad. We had so much fun, we started with a dance party, then we had a musical jam session, and we ended our day with a water balloon fest! Now I know how I sometimes have a hard time wrangling my two children, but these parents were pros with three. Not only that, they were so beautiful and you can see where their children got their good looks.

Here’s my new little buddy Mr. C, Happy Early Birthday! I hope it’s a good one!

And the twins…

Now you know I couldn’t resist putting my logo on the drum set right? Yes I’m a nerd! ;-) Check out how serious he was while drumming. Toddlers Rock!

This is probably one of my favorite shots of the day. I love how they each have a foot raised…

Thank you to the L Family for welcoming me in to your home, I had a wonderful time!

Angela! I’m so flattererd (and a bit embarrassed!) that you took the time to check out my new blog! Thanks so much for the comment….I want to print it out and hang it on my wall! I LOVE your work–it’s so natural and fun….and your website is the cutest!

TonyaMarie - August 28, 2007 - 8:56 pm

Love the logo on the drum set! I can’t see the first few images…but I’m sure they are as adorable as the last two.

meggan - August 28, 2007 - 10:30 pm

You are crazy girl! Looks like a super fun session though – kids are adorable and you really captured them well!

It’s great to be a kid

Summer is here, time for popsicles, swimming pools, the beach and bicycles. What makes that even better? Being able to ride your bike with your favorite pajamas and boots on without a care in the world. Check out my little pal Jacob who just learned how to ride his tricycle yesterday and I was able to capture it with my camera. How cute are those PJ’s he’s wearing? I think his mom told me that these boots are his sisters, but who cares, they match the bike and the PJ’s, he’s one hip little dude.
