Baby Jasper | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

This sweet little baby boy came to the studio earlier this week and he traveled oh so far…. about 2 minutes!  His mom was looking at the directions on how to get to the studio and realized that they were just around the corner, that’s my kind of commute!

When they arrived Jasper was wide awake and was ready to party, but let me tell you he was so good, such a sweet baby.  Although he did use his Dad for a diaper a few times, it seems like it’s always that Dad’s that babies like to do that to during photo shoots.  His parents were wonderful and obviously so in love with their sweet baby and each other.

If any of you out there have a newborn or you are a photographer who has newborn clients, I am here to tell you about something that will make your life so much better.  Baby Jasper fell right to sleep as soon as I plugged in my sound machine.  It has ten different sounds to choose from, Jasper preferred the heartbeat and the white noise options.  It’s only $19.99 from Target and as a Mom of a little one who had colic, it’s a priceless thing to have!

Here are a few little sneak peeks of this sweet little guy.

As you can see from this shot, he was starting to get sleepy, I love baby yawns, so so very cute.  I had just plugged in the sound machine just before I took this, I like how his Dad is looking at him, such a sweet moment.

He got a little hungry so his beautiful Mom nursed him and then we put the heartbeat sound on and he fell asleep.

My Granddaughter

Every parent thinks about those days when they will grow older and become a grand parent. My Mother In Law told me that being a grand parent is a dream come true for her, and let me tell you she’s a good one. My Grandma is a good one too, she raised me and I turned out sort of ok right?  Ok do not answer that one, just smile and nod your head. ;-) I often wonder if I will be a good grand parent, I think I already have the spoiling thing down so I must be on the right path.

My little one came to me the other day and said “Mommy this is your grandgirl and you should take a picture of her, do you love her…” So I did what any proud Grandmother would do. I took a picture of her. Look at her beautiful blue eyes, just like her Mommy (aka Morgan my 3 1/2 year old) and her skin is so perfect. I’m one proud Grandma. ;-)

Awwwwww, I think she looks a little like you too, I can definitely see the family resemblance LOL. ONly kidding. She is gorgeous, no wonder you are so proud.

Just a little early

I’m impatient, it’s so hard to wait for things, like right this instant I’m going bananas because August seems so so very far away until we go on our family vacation.  By the time August comes you all will be so glad that I’m finally going so that I will stop talking about it.  So I instantly knew that I would get along well with my newborn baby client this morning because he doesn’t like to wait for things either.  I traveled to El Segundo to meet baby J and his Mommy & Daddy for his very first portrait session.  Mr. J decided to arrive five weeks before his due date!  He was ready to take on the world, no more holding him back, he was tired of waiting.  So of course my first question for his Mom – wow, so was he in the Nicu? Did he have any problems.  Nope, he came out perfect in every way, and came home a few days after he arrived.  He is now three weeks old, but technically not due for another two weeks.  Wow that’s a lot of math.  ;)

I think he got the memo from the other newborns that I see, because he just wanted to stay up and party with us, sleeping is for babies he said, he’s 3 weeks old, a man about town.  But finally when we were almost done, he decided to give in and just sleep.  He was such a good baby for us today, and his Mom & Dad were beaming with pride and were so kind and gentle.  I had a wonderful time and thank you to the G family for welcoming me to your home!

Here are a few photos from our time together…

I love how he has his tongue stuck out!

Then he decided he was tired…

His Mom had an idea that she wanted to try!  I think if we had waited a few days later we couldn’t have done it, he was almost too long already, but I think we did great and it’s so cute.

and since he was sleeping so well for us, we just took him around the house and started putting him places, like his Dad’s desk…(the G is for his last name)

Check back in a day or so as I’ll be sharing some client photos of a special Birthday Boy.

Around The House

Yesterday afternoon I traveled to Monrovia to photograph a baby boy. His Mom & Dad wanted to incorporate their home items in to the photos to make them more personal and weren’t really interested in traditional newborn photographs. WOOHOO! My favorite thing to do. I must tell you, I think Mr. C’s Mom & Dad and I are going to start a business where I am the photographer, his Mom is the stylist and his dad is the newborn wrangler. We need to think of a name for it, I think we made a great team and let me tell you we laughed and joked a lot. His Mom even confessed that she watches Gossip Girl, which I’ve mentioned is one of my guilty pleasures. Thank you so much to the C family, I had such a wonderful time being silly with you and photographing that beautiful baby boy of yours. Oh and let me tell you all, their other two “babies” just had to sneak in to a few shots as well. I guess sibling rivalry was in full effect!

Here are a few photos of our afternoon together.

Oh and I’m going to call this next one Up Up & Away, it’s Superbaby! Check out his cute little belly button, his dad said it reminds him of a Cinnabon. So if the Cinnabon people are reading, yes we are all interested in a promotion campaign using his belly button ;)

Remember those siblings I was telling you about…

And finally when we were done, baby C threw his arms in the air, waved them like he didn’t care and fell asleep, thrilled that we were done bothering him with all this “photo” stuff.
