Celebrating 50 years and something that took almost 50 years

No no it’s not what you are thinking, I’m not celebrating my 50th birthday (I’m still in my 30’s thank you very much ;-) ).  One of my wonderful client couples is celebrating 50 years of wedded bliss.  I recently joined them at The Mansion Hotel here in Buckhead, in the heart of Atlanta to photograph them on their very special day.  They emailed me this morning and are currently vacationing and having a wonderful time in London, England – which by the way I’m jealous that they are there and I’m here in 17 degree weather, it’s so very cold here for me and my California blood.  I had to actually go out and buy a coat and I had to put away my flip flops.  Oh dear…

The something that feels like it took 50 years is my brand new blog design.  Woohoo!  Believe me when I tell you that it took about that long.  I get in to arguments with myself, I change my mind, I get on my own nerves, it is not an easy process.  Those of you who read my blog via RSS or Google reader be sure and stop in and check out the new look!  There are still a few things I need to tweak and add, but for the most part it is good to go!  Leave a note in the comment box and let me know what you think.

So, back to the wonderful couple celebrating 50 fantastic years, Happy Anniversary, here’s to many more wonderful years to come!  How about another 50?

cynthia - love the logo and the site!!! It is so bright and colorful!!

Jeanette - That family photo on the stairs is so special. Love the colours on your site, very nicely done.

Susie - Your blog design looks fantastic, ANgela- I love the curvy brightness :) You must be so fun IRL :) Are you sure that lady is the matriarch? She looks way too young to be married 50 years!

Cindy - What a gorgeous couple and family. I LOVE the new blog design!

Pammy - The new blog looks very nice! As usual, it's you and your original style. What a lovely couple--were they young children when they married? They look fantastic to be celebrating their 50th.

lisa - Love the design- so cute and fresh! And no way have they been married 50 years, they don't look a day over 50. What a lovely family they have.

Danna - the family portrait is awesome....how can they not be filled with pride looking at it and seeing the beautiful family they created.

missy - Hi Angela, I am a long time reader of your blog and wanted to give the input you ask for. I think it looks so amazing! Who did you have design it? My only suggestion is that when I first come to the blog, it takes a while for the pictures on the top bar to load and feels a little empty until they do. It could just be that my connection isn't very fast too. I don't know how easy this would be, but I wonder if you would like it better if they all came up at once (all three) and then the pictures just rotated through like you have them doing anyway. Really cool little slideshows, by the way!

Shellie - What an awesome family photo on the stairs!

PamN - They look fantastic! These images will only become more treasured as time passes.

Bree - I think that I love it! Especially the header.

allie - Aw, gorgeous images, Angela! Great job posing on the stairs- just lovely!

One + Twins | Atlanta Twin Photographer

I have so much stuff to share and I know I need to blog when people are emailing me making sure I’m alive.  Very alive and very busy!  Fall is the holiday portrait season rush and not to mention all of these beautiful babies being born in Atlanta, it’s my favorite time of the year.

Also one bit of business – I only have a couple of Los Angeles portrait sessions left for the week of November 10-16 so if you want one, book now!  I am going to be all over LA, quite a busy schedule during my week there!

Today I traveled to Cartersville and met this wonderful family bright and early, these little ones wake up at 6:00am every day (sounds like my two!) so we were outside with the chickens this morning.  They were such troopers because it was super cold outside, but that did not stop us from having fun.  Awesome awesome parents and incredibly cute children, what a wonderful way to start the day!  I think I am becoming the official Atlanta Twin photographer, just call me the twinographer! ;-)   I have so many great clients that all have twins.  Here are a few to share from our morning together:

Hey those pinwheels match my logo!

Off to a sweet start… | Atlanta Family Photographer

First let me tell you that when they call it HOTlanta they aint joking!  As they say “it’s not the heat it’s the humidity”, I’m hear to tell you every single word of that is true.  Phew!

This evening I met my clients at a beautiful park in East Cobb County.  They have the best last name ever and I hope they don’t mind me sharing, it’s Sugar.  How cute is that and that they are my first Atlanta clients and they have a sweet last name. ;-)   I had such a wonderful time, they were so much fun and were so very sweet and kind.  We had a mission today and that was to get some shots of the three generations of Sugar Men.  Grandpa Sugar was in visiting from New York so this was the perfect opportunity for photos!  Later on this week we will have part two of our session and it will be all about little J.

Thank you to the Sugar family to living up to your name and being so sweet and welcoming to me and for braving the crazy heat together!

Just a side note that I’m currently turning cartwheels in my front yard (ok not really, I would probably break my neck) but our “stuff” arrived today in the moving crates and after 2+ weeks I get to sleep in my own bed.  You read that right, no floor,  no crazy air mattress, yes my very own bed.  My back is already thanking me!

Here are a few sneak peeks from this afternoon!

Don’t you just love those dark eyes and gorgeous red hair he has.  So so cute!

Mission accomplished…

and we can’t forget Mr. J’s beautiful Mommy (who reminds me so much of my friend Monica back in LA)…

A Future Fighting Irishman

Today I traveled to Sherman Oaks to photograph a super cute 5 month old baby. He had the cutest face and the sweetest little personality. His Mom and Dad were so cool and lots of fun, he’s one lucky guy. He was in a serious mood today, I think he had a lot of his mind. I wonder what 5 months old think about? Milk? Diapers? Toys? Hands? Who knows but I bet it’s something good. We spent a lot of time on our tummies and let me tell you he is one strong dude. He was practically doing push ups, already in training mode. He is a future Notre Dame Fighting Irishman, just like his Dad. So at the end we made sure to get a quick shot of them in their gear. Thank you so much to the S Family for welcoming me in to your home and being so kind. I had a great time!

Here are a few photos from our time together…

I think he was trying to figure out why he was naked and on the floor.

I loved these polka dots on their guest bedroom pillows

I don’t know about you but babies in jeans = cutest thing ever!

Of course we had to get a quick shot of the boys in their Notre Dame gear.
