I promise I haven’t fallen off the planet, I’ve been very busy working on a super awesome commercial project that I’ve neglected my blog. I have something exciting to tell you all about so I thought I would come out of my blogging break to tell you all about it!

I know you just sit around all the time and think to yourself, “I wish I could take Atlanta Baby Photographer Angela Calderon with me every where I go”.  What?  You have never thought that? Two of my good friends emailed me a link to *the* coolest little program ever.  The best part…it’s FREEEEEE!!!  I made this collage in just under a minute by opening up a few client folders and putting the images in to the program.  How cool is that?  You can even do custom shapes (hmm I’m thinking my logo would be good to use!).  You can download the program here.  I chose the heart because I love all of my wonderful clients!   Have fun creating your own collage.

We photographers are interesting creatures.  We get excited over broken down old rusty cars, buildings that are falling apart with cracked paint, old ratty chairs – all of which make for the most amazing backgrounds, props and unique things to use during portrait sessions.  Many of us also have a serious addiction for blankets.  We call each other when we find a new fantastic, amazing, oh my goodness this would so be rockin’ for a photo type of blanket.  We email each other asking where to get them, how much and if we can’t find it will you pick one up for me.  Oh dear, it truly *is* like a drug.  I think I’m up to 2,456,746 blankets, oh wait, I see another one peeking out from the plastic storage bins that I keep them in, ok so 2,456,747 blankets.  As I was putting some of them away today I snapped a few photos and made this funky collage of some of the blankets I have.  I guess it’s a good thing I have this blanket collection, it sure is cold here in Atlanta right now!

Lisa - Ah, yes - I see that YOU are the one who snatched up all of the rasta blankets in the area - I hit 4 stores today and had no luck! HA! Of course, that didn't stop me from buying 3 others. Sigh...you hit the nail on the head with this post! ;)

A Message from Santa

My best friend Amy sent me a message earlier with the. cutest. thing. ever. for children who believe in Santa Claus.  You select the child’s name, age, what they are asking for this year and a few other details and then a special video is created just for them!  I love this, be sure to get a video of your children when they watch it for the first time!  My son’s name wasn’t in the name database so Santa doesn’t say his name, but his photo is in the video.  The coolest thing about this?  It’s free!

Giving *is* Awesome

Last year I gave away a portrait session and prints to a deserving family who was nominated by a friend.  This year I joined in the giving going on over at http://www.givingisawesome.com .  Kristen from Essential Imagery put all of this together and photographers from around the world are donating their time, talent and art to deserving families all around the world.  The concept is simple…

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)  Times are tough, many people have lost their homes, jobs and hope.  Custom portraiture is the last thing they are able to afford right now.

* The nominee must reside in Atlanta, GA or immediate surrounding areas. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

*You must email the nomination and story to giving@angelacalderon.com

I am so excited about this and I hope that you will all take a few minutes and think of someone who you could nominate to receive this very special gift!
