Turning Three | Los Angeles Children’s Photographer

I’m back here in Atlanta safe and sound after spending the last week shooting in Los Angeles.  I sure missed my husband and my children, and while I do love LA it is great to be back to my new home Atlanta.  I have some emails to catch up on, so if you are waiting on one from me, I’ll be responding asap!   It was awesome to see some of my LA clients again.  Many of them I’ve had the pleasure of seeing every year since they were brand new babies!

Miss M has been a client of mine for three years now.  It’s always so neat to see my little clients each year and to see how much they’ve grown since our last portrait session.  Last year at this time she was shy, quiet and very reserved, this year she was spunky, talkative and so silly, we had a great time.  She had a very special birthday party this weekend too, so this past week was very busy for her.

I’ll be sharing some sneak peeks of my California clients all this week.  Here are a few from my morning with sweet little Miss M.

She has the most beautiful eyes. I especially love the one of all of them on the bed…how great would that look as a canvas in their room?

Chung Nguyen - November 18, 2008 - 12:53 pm

Beautiful, angelic face. Lovely.

Sherri - November 18, 2008 - 3:23 pm

Those are wonderful images. What a treasure to have your family photographer move but be able to come back and do a session with you again. They had to have loved that!

Straight From Santa

I arrived safe and sound to Los Angeles and I’m caught in a little bit of a time warp gaining three hours of time and from being up all night last night since I had to get to the air port so early I just stayed up!  Phew I am tired!  I can’t wait to see some of my LA clients & friends this week!

I just have to tell you about this wonderful website that my friends Pete & Charlaine created.  It’s called Straight From Santa and what they do is send your child a letter from Santa just before Christmas.  Now the super cool thing about it is that Charlaine is up in Alaska and the postmark will say North Pole.  How cool is that?  My son is going to love this and will notice the post mark right away.  The best thing about it, the price!  It’s only $10 a letter, which very reasonable and they have several letter designs to choose from.  So head on over and check it out and get a letter sent to your little ones!

Baby Anna | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Today I traveled to Mableton to photograph a newborn baby girl who is only six days old.  I always tell my clients and potential clients that it is so important to have their newborns photographed within their first two weeks because it makes such a difference.  Anna was a true testament to that, she was so sleepy and laid back, I think I could have just sat and looked at her all day.  She almost shares a birthday with her Dad, so there were quite a few of us scorpios in the house today!  Thank you to Anna’s wonderful parents, they were amazing and so sweet and kind.

Oh, she is such a little heartbreaker at only six days old, here are a few from our morning together…

I love it when I catch babies mid-yawn, this modeling thing is hard work!

[...] Last year at this time I photographed beautiful Baby Anna shortly after she was born.  I was so excited when her Mommy told me that they wanted me to photograph her again this year.  I love love love seeing how much the babies I photograph have grown over the past year when I see them for their one year portrait sessions.  Miss Anna is *such* a sweet and beautiful little toddler.  She blows kisses and waves bye bye, oh she just melts my heart.  We had a lot of fun playing in the leaves and being silly that day.  Thank you so much B & P for inviting me back again this year. Baby Elizabeth | Marietta Newborn Photographer

Earlier this week I traveled to Marietta to photograph a brand new baby girl.  Her beautiful Mommy came in last month for her maternity session and now I had the chance to meet her sweet baby.

Miss Elizabeth did not want to go to sleep, she liked staying up and hanging out with us.  I’m telling you, these newborns love partying with me.  She was so alert and was so tiny and cute.  Finally she got tired of us fussing with her and she took a little nap.  I love photographing newborns, its such an amazing time for their families and to see how much they change in the first year is mind boggling.

Thank you to the M family for welcoming me to your home and being so kind, it was so much fun and I can’t wait until our next portrait session!

Her Mommy had this beautiful scarf that she got when she went to Paris, I love the color and it made a perfect wrap for baby E.

Just Do It

Tomorrow is one of the biggest days in the history of our wonderful country, the 2008 Presidential Election.  Please please please take time out of your day to get out and vote.  I like to wait until election day to vote, however this year being in a new state with fewer polling locations I anticipated a long wait on the actual day so my husband and I voted last week.

Now I would love to tell you who I’m voting for and why I think you should vote for that person, but I don’t like to mix my politics with my business.  I just ask that you please vote and choose who is best for you, your values, your beliefs and who you think is best person to lead our country.  Also whoever wins I hope that you will all support our new President, even if it’s not who you voted for.  Now more than ever we need to all join together to come out of this slump that we are in.

Email a photo of you with your “I Voted” sticker to contest@angelacalderon.com and I’ll pick a winner for a itunes gift card!  Entries must be received by Tuesday night at 11:59 eastern standard time. Get out and rock the vote tomorrow!
