The Littlest Red Sox Fan…

Today I photographed sweet baby boy Ray and his wonderful parents.  He was so cute and he had the brightest most beautiful blue eyes that just sparkled.  Ray’s older brother Bruce (the cat) was hanging out watching what was going on today, although Bruce told me that he was not interested in photographs today.  ;-)

Ray’s Dad is a huge Red Sox Fan & New England Patriots fan and he had all of this really cool memorabilia that was just perfect, so we swaddled Ray up and I think we have the perfect shot for his Dad.  Thank you to the L family for being so wonderful.  Enjoy the bean bag chair and have a safe trip to Boston in a few weeks!!

Here are a couple from this morning, sweet baby Ray…

Meet Joe

First off I have to tell you that the George Michael concert was flipping amazing. In my next life I want to come back with a English accent. I wonder if I could just talk like that when we move to Atlanta, maybe no one would notice? Best accents ever. This morning I had almost no voice from screaming so loud last night at the concert. I told my husband I want to see him when he plays Atlanta, and darn it his show is the day we leave LA July 31. Here are the dates left on his tour: http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/735650, if you like him GO! You will not be sorry, he sounds as good as ever!

This morning I traveled to Beverly Hills to photograph sweet baby Joe and his wonderful Mommy & Daddy. Joe was such a little flirt and gave me the biggest smiles. You all are going to fall in love with him when you see these photos, sooo cute! To the S family - thank you for having me over to photograph baby Joe and I hope you have a safe and wonderful trip to New York!!!

Here are a few from today…

A Date with George Michael

Go ahead and roll your eyes, it’s ok, go ahead and poke fun, that’s ok too. Tomorrow night I have a date with George Michael. It’s been 17 years since he toured in the US and I just couldn’t miss out on his comeback right? I bought the tickets and then told my husband that I wanted him to go somewhere with me and that he couldn’t say no then I said it’s a concert. I’m sure in his head he was thinking, OMG if this woman makes me go see New Kids On the Block we are *so* headed for divorce court. No, I’ll just make my friend Julia go with me this fall when they pass through Atlanta on their tour.

Have any of you seen the movie Music & Lyrics with Drew Barrymoore & Hugh Grant (who I love by the way, and yes I’m pretending he didn’t do that thing with that woman and get arrested for it….shhh)? It is such a cute movie, he plays a 80’s singer who was in a band similar to Wham. I even downloaded the songs from itunes, yeah I’m a sucker for cheesy music.

So this time tomorrow night I’ll be screaming like a teenager from wayyyyyyyy up high in the cheap seats and singing at the top of my lungs to George Michael music. My husband will probably be sitting next to me with his ipod ear buds in his ears pretending he’s listening to the same thing I am, but in reality he will probably be listening to Judas Priest or something bizarre like that ;-) .

One of my favorite George Michael songs (but to be honest I pretty much love them all)

Check out Hugh Grant in his faux 80’s group “Pop”, I love this he’s so funny and that’s really him singing too!

Wicked

Remember the scene in Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts & Richard Gere are at the opera and a woman asks her how she liked the opera and Julia’s response was: “It was so good, I almost peed my pants!”  Yep Wicked was that good.  Wow, it was truly amazing, I would put it up there with Phantom of the Opera on my favorites list (and I’ve seen Phantom four times now).  As my husband loves to point out “yeah she cried again”.  I think I am slowly developing a crybaby reputation, but yes there was a lot of boohooing at the end of it (and no I was not the only one, there were lots of other people crying too! ;-) )  It’s currently running in LA, Chicago and New York.  Please please put this on your to do list if you are in one of these cities or plan to visit.  I heard that it might be going on tour, so keep your eyes open for that!

Before we got there I reminded my husband that one of my favorite restaurants is close by so we had dinner at Chin Chin.  Seriously, people, if you are in LA (or in Vegas) you have to eat at Chin Chin and get the chinese chicken salad.  It is to die for.  I am so going to miss that when we leave LA, maybe I can pretend I’m a celebrity and they will have the salad flown by private just for me to Atlanta.  Yeah and then I’ll wake up from that dream now won’t I?  A girl can dream right?

I’m soooo not a food photographer, so my little point and shoot camera photo makes it look sort of gross, but trust me, its heaven on a plate…

We were a little early so we walked around and then we bumped in to Bette Davis and hung out with her for a while.  She didn’t say much..

The Pantages is such a BEAUTIFUL theater and it’s even prettier inside but men in vests come and scold you if you take photos, so you will just have to have a look at this shot of the ceiling from the outside waiting area.

Spencer loved Wicked!  I feel bad about leaving my little one at home but there is no way she would have been able to sit through three hours without having a toddler episode, so she partied with Grandma at home.
Just pretend you don’t see bad flash here and the dreaded red eyes, I was being a Mom not a photographer.  Just a note if you do decide to see the play, don’t buy the cd or the book there, they are like $30 each, same book and same cd on Amazon.com are less than $10 each.  We did buy the program and a tiny little shot of Diet Coke that was like $400, ok maybe it was $6, but it felt like $400.

Outside The Pantages after the show

Portrait of a 150 year old…

Today I traveled up the 405 freeway (which was insane by the way, a RV was on fire and it looked like I was driving in to hell with all that smoke and fire going across the freeway, I hope the drivers are ok) to photograph a 150 year old.  Ok ok so my little client today is only six months but his christening dress is 150 years old!  His Mom was photographed in this dress when she was three months old, so his wonderful grandmother just couldn’t resist the chance to try and recreate the same photo all these years later.  He came all the way from North Carolina for our session today.

Now I tell you, this little guy was so sweet and such a trooper, especially since it was pushing 100 degrees today, he just smiled and laughed and had the best time.  So he’s wearing the same christening dress and sitting in the same chair that his mother sat in (although it’s been reupholstered so it looks a little different now)

So here is the super happy and oh so sweet little Connor, he makes me smile
