Just For Mom

First I wanted to say thanks for all of the sweet emails and calls checking on me to see if I’m ok since I haven’t blogged in over a week.  I didn’t run off and join the circus, I’ve just been super busy with some top secret photo shoots and finishing up some Mother’s Day orders for my clients.

Today I traveled to Griffith Park to photograph three beautiful sisters.  They are surprising their Mom with these photos, so today they are going to show her this blog entry and surprise her with a few sneak peeks from today’s session.

Ok seriously, it is not fair to be this gorgeous!  Not fair not fair not fair!  But on top of being so beautiful, they were so very sweet and kind to me too.  I’m often asked if I photograph adults, yes I sure do, I just have children on my site for now, I need to add the adults to my site, it’s on my never ending list.  The best part about photographing adults, you don’t have to chase or bribe them!  Nice!

Here are a few sneak peeks just for their Mom.  I hope that all of you have a wonderful Mother’s Day!!!!!

Angela, wow they are beautiful for sure. I sure hope they get that first one as a huge portrait for moms house. If I was the mother, I’d want to see all of my children prominently displayed on my walls to put a smile on my face everyday.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Get it while you can

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ve probably already heard that Polaroid is going to stop making film and instant cameras. It’s already disappearing from stores as people begin stocking up, some for personal use and others are selling it on ebay. It’s already fetching a pretty penny on ebay even with it still being available in stores. So if you have a Polaroid camera, stock up now before it’s all gone. I hope that some other company will pick up the patent and will continue to make it. I remember when I was little that my Aunt had a camera from Kodak that did the same thing until Polaroid sued Kodak and they stopped producing the film, so she had the choice to keep the camera or trade it in for a Kodak Disc Camera. I think she kept the Kodak. For more of the story go here: http://www.boston.com/business/technology/articles/2008/02/08/polaroid_shutting_2_mass_facilities_laying_off_150/

My friend Pete told me about a good deal on the film if you use a coupon from Staples. So I stocked up!

i am sooooo sad about this, i hope that someone keeps Polaroid going! thanks for the info about Staples…my sister works there so I am off to visit her tomorrow and stock up before it is too late :(

Danna - May 2, 2008 - 7:01 am

ohhhh I so need to stock up I don’t have a polaroid camera but I have a nifty polaroid transfer machine that will be useless without film :-(

marie - May 2, 2008 - 7:42 am

off to go buy some…

Stacy - May 2, 2008 - 8:16 am

I have never used a polaroid camera in my life, but knowing it’s going extinct makes me want to go buy one. Thanks for always keeping your blog so interesting!

Brandy - May 2, 2008 - 9:43 am

I keep meaning to stock up, but always forget.
Going to do it today!

Agnes - May 2, 2008 - 10:20 pm

we have a polaroid and i think they are so fun! read about this too and thanks for the tip about staples. i need to stock up!

Anna-Karin - May 4, 2008 - 7:53 pm

I should go and buy a couple of boxes so my kids can get to see what we used to ooh and ahhh over back in the 70′s. I think I still have a polaroid camera somewhere around here.
Thanks for the reminder!

Tony - May 6, 2008 - 7:15 am

I agree it is nostalgic, and have thought about stocking up, but what do I do with all my VHS tapes?

Reb - May 6, 2008 - 1:39 pm

I wish I had a use for it … but alas, I don’t even own a polaroid camera. Shame on me for not owning one, and shame on them for discontinuing such an awesome form of photography!

Anna Mayer - May 7, 2008 - 7:58 am

I need to get me one of those, like, now! I have always wanted one and this is the push I needed. Cool picture, too.

nina pomeroy - May 10, 2008 - 6:46 am
