My Granddaughter

Every parent thinks about those days when they will grow older and become a grand parent. My Mother In Law told me that being a grand parent is a dream come true for her, and let me tell you she’s a good one. My Grandma is a good one too, she raised me and I turned out sort of ok right?  Ok do not answer that one, just smile and nod your head. ;-) I often wonder if I will be a good grand parent, I think I already have the spoiling thing down so I must be on the right path.

My little one came to me the other day and said “Mommy this is your grandgirl and you should take a picture of her, do you love her…” So I did what any proud Grandmother would do. I took a picture of her. Look at her beautiful blue eyes, just like her Mommy (aka Morgan my 3 1/2 year old) and her skin is so perfect. I’m one proud Grandma. ;-)

Celebrating Six

Today one of my very special little clients turns six. Now I’m sure you all will recognize him as I photographed his baby sister a few months ago when she learned to sit. I don’t get tired of telling you all how much I love my clients, when I see them again after a little while it’s like saying hello to old friends and we pick up where we left off last time. Mr. C and his little brother Mr. D still love to talk about poopie sandwiches and baby A still has that smile that lights up a room. Their Mom and Dad greeted me with their friendly and warm smiles that are so familiar and kind. I’m always sad to say goodbye and I always look forward to our next portrait session.

Their family has a tradition to have a portrait session on each of their birthdays to document the day and special time, on the actual day of their birthday. So today was about C and turning the big SIX. I told him he didn’t look a day over ten. ;-) Thank you to the W family for inviting me to your home again, it was wonderful to see you!!! Here are a few to share of the Birthday Boy! Look at those gorgeous eyelashes!

Just a little early

I’m impatient, it’s so hard to wait for things, like right this instant I’m going bananas because August seems so so very far away until we go on our family vacation.  By the time August comes you all will be so glad that I’m finally going so that I will stop talking about it.  So I instantly knew that I would get along well with my newborn baby client this morning because he doesn’t like to wait for things either.  I traveled to El Segundo to meet baby J and his Mommy & Daddy for his very first portrait session.  Mr. J decided to arrive five weeks before his due date!  He was ready to take on the world, no more holding him back, he was tired of waiting.  So of course my first question for his Mom - wow, so was he in the Nicu? Did he have any problems.  Nope, he came out perfect in every way, and came home a few days after he arrived.  He is now three weeks old, but technically not due for another two weeks.  Wow that’s a lot of math.  ;)

I think he got the memo from the other newborns that I see, because he just wanted to stay up and party with us, sleeping is for babies he said, he’s 3 weeks old, a man about town.  But finally when we were almost done, he decided to give in and just sleep.  He was such a good baby for us today, and his Mom & Dad were beaming with pride and were so kind and gentle.  I had a wonderful time and thank you to the G family for welcoming me to your home!

Here are a few photos from our time together…

I love how he has his tongue stuck out!

Then he decided he was tired…

His Mom had an idea that she wanted to try!  I think if we had waited a few days later we couldn’t have done it, he was almost too long already, but I think we did great and it’s so cute.

and since he was sleeping so well for us, we just took him around the house and started putting him places, like his Dad’s desk…(the G is for his last name)

Check back in a day or so as I’ll be sharing some client photos of a special Birthday Boy.

A Saturday Sweetie

This morning I traveled to Beverly Hills to photograph a soon to be one year old baby girl. She and her Mom were so sweet and beautiful, we had such a good time. I’ll tell you, I think little Miss P liked me a lot. When her Mom was getting ready or when she was getting changes of clothing ready I would hold Miss P. She would just look at me and we would giggle. Now that I think about it, maybe she thought I looked funny. We had some wonderful conversations. We would both sing at the same time, toddler singing is *the* cutest, our song consisted of one word mmmmm. Maybe we will go on tour!

Here are a few photos of our morning together, I already miss little P, she gave good hugs, big grins and squeals.

Her Mom saw a shot like this on my website and wanted to try it, so we did!

This shot was totally by accident, her Mom was changing her and I was changing lenses, I looked up to see her watching me. I quickly snapped it, I love her expression.

She’s ready for summer!

And finally, there is nothing better than a good book!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday like I did. I was also in front of the camera for a couple of minutes today. We had to get new passport photos taken for our vacation in August. Icck, now I know what my clients go through. I will *not* be sharing those passport photos, they are so not flattering!
