The Company Car

With gas prices climbing higher every day I guess I better start thinking of ways to save on my gas bill. Since I’m on location it seems like I’m always at the pump just handing over money for gas, then right back at it a couple of days later.

I saw a link to this car company on a forum that I read. Hmm what do you think? Maybe my new company car? There’s even room for gear in the back ;-) Check out these little hot rods. http://www.myersmotors.com/index.html

Or Maybe I should go with pink? ;-)

I don’t like to brag but…

I think my son has *the* best hair ever. We get stopped every where we go, everyone loves his hair. One time my husband took him to get it cut and they came home and it was all gone, he was so sad, he loves his curls and so do I. We were outside just a little while ago and the kids were playing in the sprinklers so I snapped a few of him. My sweet baby boy, and yes he is still my baby and always will be no matter how old he is.

“Sun”day

Today put the sun in Sunday, it was one beautiful (but super hot) day! I took the day off and we headed down to Disneyland bright and early this morning so that we could beat the crowds and have a little fun. I think everyone else had the same idea too, Disneyland was PACKED! We have this book about inside secrets to the park and it tells you which rides to ride first based on how long they take and how many people can get through at a time. One of the rides that takes the longest to get through is Dumbo because of the loading, unloading and how many people it can take at a time, so we always go to that one first. Or if anyone is planning on going soon and you want to check out the new Finding Nemo ride, run and get in line the minute the park opens, today there was well over a 90 minute wait. We skipped Nemo since we’ve ridden it already and didn’t feel like waiting that long.

I’m a bad photographer, when I go to Disneyland I usually just take my little point and shoot camera and throw it in the backpack. The few times that I took my DSLRs I regretted it because I was constantly worried about them getting broken, bumped or stolen. With my point and shoot it’s just so much easier, although I think everyone else had their nice DSLRs with them, not so many point and shoots being carried anymore.

My kids would rather eat dirt than have me try and photograph them, so out of the 6 hours we were there today I took a grand total of 8 photos and three little video clips. So I’ll share two of the photos and one of the clips. I hope you all had a great weekend!

PS – It’s ok if my voice gets on your nerves in this video, it gets on mine too, at least you don’t have to live with it and hear it 24 hours a day!

I call this video “When Giant Hands Attack!

Tony - Great job on the fill light

Joyce Smith - Love the video!! Hysterical. We definitely have that book as well and my husband makes sure that we follow The Plan (TM). :) Sounds like a great day despite the crowds! I also take just my p&s to Disney and am but one in a sea of d40s. ;)

Carrie Steffe - This is the sign of an awesome photographer...when you can make shots with a point and shoot look amazing! Loving your color! Off to watch the video but have to wait till my kids are out of the room or they will bug me to watch it over and over.

Marmalade - Point & shoot, schmoint & schmoot! Your images, as alwasy, so beautiful. LOVE the video. LOVE it. I've been carrying around the P&S more often. It's fun to not worry about breaking something....throw it in my pocket & just GO!

Susan - These are so sweet and Angela I adore your daughters haircut a lot. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise? lol You have 8 more pictures than I have from the weekend, I hear you though.

Brandy Anderson - Hahaha, loved that video! I am always surprised when I hear your accent. I need to get over it. LOL I take my p&s to Disney too. In fact, I take it most everywhere.

Jennifer - oh you all are lucky, I have never been there, I would love to go there someday!

Lisa Kelly - Okay Angela, I think I need that book. We are hoping to spend Christmas 2009 in the US and Disneyland is going to one of our first stops. Coming all the way from Australia means we don't know any tips and tricks so if you have any cool hints to share I'd love to hear them. These photos are great, makes me long to get there.

Kimberly Hill - awwww.... we were Disney'ing at the same time but on opposite coasts! I'm not nearly as good with my p'n's as you are though, LOL!

The Birthday Girl

Today I traveled to Pasadena to photograph a beautiful baby girl’s 1st Birthday Party. She had her party at the Kidspace Children’s Museum that is located next to The Rose Bowl. She had so many friends and family there who all came out to help her celebrate her special day. She was surrounded by so much love, it was so sweet. I think it is safe to say that everyone had a wonderful time. It was in the 90’s today in Pasadena, OUCH OUCH OUCH! But little Miss A’s parents picked a perfect place with lots of beautiful shade trees for her party. For all of my Los Angeles blog readers, you should check out the museum, it’s a really neat place for kids, and don’t forget to take their swim suits, because there is a big waterfall and creek area for them to play in and cool down!

Thank you to Miss A’s family for having me photograph your celebration and for being so sweet and kind. I had a great time! Here are a few photos from today.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I’m taking the day off tomorrow and spending it with my little ones at Disneyland. Let’s hope it’s a little cooler than it was today!
