We are on day seven of rain (possibly more but I think it’s day seven) here in Los Angeles. Since we don’t usually get a lot of rain here the local news stations are calling it a “Rain Event”. It cracks me up every time I turn on the news and hear them talking about the “event” or “Storm Watch 2008″. Hey everything is on a grand scale here, any reason for a event or a party we are on it. So my children are driving each other crazy since they cannot go outside and they are stuck in the house. My little one was sick all week and was home from preschool, so she really has cabin fever. I took them out to stand on the porch with their umbrellas for some fresh air and they were happy campers after that (ok in reality they were happy campers for a total of 8 minutes and then they started picking on each other again).
A few months ago I mentioned how I am making the transition to Mac and I am in love. I love how easy, fast and reliable my Mac is. I still have been using my PC next to my Mac because there are still a few programs that don’t have versions for Mac (although I should just get Bootcamp and be done with it). My Dell… oh how I loathe the. This is the biggest piece of redneck computer I think I have ever had in my entire time of using a computer. When I bought it I bought the top of the line model, super fast, tons of RAM, hard drive spaces, DVD drives, you name it this thing is “supposed” to be able to do it. So back in November it started doing weird things and it would not power on and would flash some crazy amber colored light. I did a search on Google and lucky me, I have one of the models that seems to have all sorts of problems. So once I get the thing back on I can’t turn it off. If the power goes out (which oddly enough happens quite often in our neighborhood at least 1x a week) then I have to jump start it. Yes you heard right I have to jump start my computer. I have to take off the casing, do some weird trick with the battery and the start button, unplug, say some prayers then it finally jumps itself. I swear it’s quite the production and drama until I get it going again. I’ll confess I’m not a nice person when this is going on, I give quite a few evil eyes to my husband if he asks me if it’s working yet.
To my clients reading this, rest assured that your images are all located on external hard drives and backed up to a off site source as well as on DVD, so you are safe. However my sanity is compromised every time this happens. I spent two hours trying to jumpstart RC (aka Redneck Computer) this morning and he decided he didn’t want to come on. I’m going to wait and try again later. I hope for RC’s sake that he starts up again or he’s headed for a landfill!
A couple of snaps of my little ones enjoying their fresh air during our “Rain Event” ;-) (note to self, trim daughter’s bangs so she can see) I hope everyone had a great weekend!

your kids are just too cute, I love your daughters hair, even the long bangs!
Don’t cut the bangs yet!!!
You can also try to install VM Ware Fusion. It runs simultaneously with your Mac and even lets you drag files from mac to pc. I use it with FotoFusion for album design.
