Having fun at the beach

Another weekend has come to a close, phew it was a busy one! I’d like to say hello to all of my new friends that I made this weekend. I consider all of my clients friends because you all welcome me in to your lives and I appreciate that. My clients from this afternoon were some familar faces. We tried to have a beach session last month, however Mother Nature wasn’t so nice to us and it was rainy so we rescheduled for today. Again, she was playing tricks on us this afternoon and it was cold and overcast. When I got to my car and turned around the clouds parted and the sun came out. I think I need to have a talk with someone about this weather situation. :) That’s ok, we still had a good time and it was wonderful to see them again.

Laughter is the best medicine

I had the best time this morning with my clients - a family from Manhattan Beach. Three of them flew in all the way from Canada! Now I love a family that loves to have a good time, and let me tell you, this was one fun group. When I was booking the session with them I was told that they were very easy going and not high maintenance. Yep, they were right, a joy to be around! Such a loving and happy family and they even humored me when I said ok let’s do something a little silly. Even the two year old cutie was making a funny face! My kind of people!

Ok they didn’t make that face for all of the photos, just when we were having a little fun!

This evening I put on my superhero photographer cape and transformed in to a sports photographer for a high paced game of little league t-ball. Ok ok maybe not so high paced, but the kids have fun and that’s what matters! This is my son Spencer playing the outfield. He likes to actually play catcher instead of the outfield because he likes to lean against the wall! :) Shhh, don’t tell his secret. Just a few moments before I took this shot he was playing in the dirt, so I had to remind him to pay attention. He’s five, dirt is fun!

Brand New Portrait Registry

Hello! Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day yesterday!

Today I wanted to tell you a litle about something new and exciting that I’m offering with my portrait sessions. You are now able to create a portrait gift registry. I’ve already tested this out with a few clients and they loved it, so now it’s ready for everyone! It works just like a regular gift registry and people are able to add money to your account so that you can buy portraits. I think this is going to be really popular with all of my newborn client families. If you are interested in starting a registry for your portraits please let me know, or if you are interested in setting up a surprise registry for a friend, family member, co-worker just let me know and I will gladly set it up for you. Don’t forget you can always purchase a gift certificate as well, this is just another option that is very easy and fun to do.

I love…

I love her even when she wipes her nose on my shirt and I just finished getting ready to leave for a photoshoot and I have to go back and change my shirt again…

I love him even when we are at a restaurant and he announces to the entire place that he has to go to the potty and he just farted…

I love her even when she insists on rolling in the dirt within two seconds of us walking out the door to go somewhere and we are already running late after having spent 20 minutes giving her a second bath after she found a marker in my purse and decided she would like to decorate her legs…

I love them even when my they won’t go to sleep after a long day and they are tried and cranky and insist on jumping on their beds…

I love her even when I say no and that results in a two year old tantrum…

I love them even when I ask them to pick up their toys and they pretend they cannot hear me…

I love them even when they pick at each other and won’t share…

Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs there is.  No one ever said it would be easy, but no one could ever explain how wonderful, amazing and rewarding it truly is.  I try and not get too sappy here on my business blog, but it’s Mother’s Day so I get this day to be a cheeseball.

I’m so proud to be the Mom of two of the most awesome little human beings who make me a better person and have changed my life.  I cannot imagine my life without them or before them.

I want to wish all of you Moms out there a wonderful Mother’s Day.  Enjoy your day!  I hope it’s filled with hugs, kisses and lots of laughs.  Here are my two little stinkers, Spencer & Morgan:

I am lucky to have met so many amazing mothers who are my clients.  I opened the file on my computer called Moms and I’m sharing a couple of images from there that I randomly opened.  I wish I could share all of the Moms as you are all so very special.

Exclusively Blurry

**Just a little bit of business before today’s blog post: I only have two appointment times left for May and June is almost booked so be sure and give me a buzz if you are wanting to set up a session soon.  For May the two remaining appointments are Saturday May 19 (morning appointment) and Saturday May 26 (afternoon appointment).  If you are interested in either appointment please email me via angela@angelacalderon.com **

Ok now on to today’s post!

I’m coming to you live from dreamland.  Ok ok I’ll explain!  Today I had my yearly eye exam and my eyes were dilated.  It’s been several hours and I still have these bizarre dilated pupils, so everything looks cloudy and dreamy.  Not to mention my eyes look like I’m a cartoon, my children think I look like a cat!  So here’s what I think a portrait would look like if I had a session with my eyes dilated, it’s just a little fun with Photoshop.  Blurry but colorful right? :)  I promise that your portraits will never look like this, well unless you are in to this sort of thing and I’ll gladly oblige and offer you something exclusively blurry!

PS - Wasn’t LOST really good last night?  So many new questions!
